Isaiah 46:9-13—telling Babylon and Jerusalem to choose God over idols

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.12 Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

God—El—mighty and strong. Pleasure—delight, desire. Ravenous bird—Cyrus. Purposed—formed, potter. My glory—I will show/give my glory, I will glory in them as my people.

Ezekiel 22:13-15—in context of the evil things done in Jerusalem

Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the Lord have spoken it, and will do it.

15 And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

Endure—withstand the judgment that is coming. God will sustain the remnant.

Consume thy filthiness—empty it out to get germs out!

Ezekiel 24:13-14—cooking pot heated to purify, scum left, Ezekiel’s wife will die, not mourned

In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

14 I the Lord have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord God.

Lewdness—obstinacy, boldness. Purged—used all means to clean em. Spare—pity, have compassion. Go back—desist, relax. Repent—be sorry, be consoled or comforted.

Ezekiel 36:34-36—restoration of the land, covered last week.

And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.

Become like Garden—lush, plentiful, but also free from sin.

God has the judgment and the salvation promised and it will happen.
